Reflexology.......In
The Workplace
Recognising
the increasingly stressful world we live in, Sinead
wanted to bring Reflexology and it's benefits to those
who would otherwise not necessarily view it as therapy
which could benefit them in their lives. To
do so, she devised the 'Stress Buster' reflexology
treatment which is administered on the hand and targets
the areas of stress and tension.
The therapy takes approx. 15 minutes and treats both
the right and left hands. It begins with a basic
massage to relax the hand and stimulate circulation.
It then targets the reflex points for the solar plexus
{the central point in the stomach region which is
the seat of most of our stored tension}, the neck
and shoulders and the spine including the musculature
of the back area.
As
with any reflexology treatment the simple act of working
certain reflex points has an effect on the body as
a whole and it is for this reason, the Workplace 'Stress
Buster' treatment is ideally suited towards people
who work in the public domain, dealing with clients,
working in highly stressful environments and particularly
in this time of recession when financial stresses
affect people both in and outside work. It can
provide the recipients with a treatment which demonstrates
what reflexology is, how it works and how it affects
the body.
For
the employer who chooses to provide this treatment
for their staff, the benefits are multiple.
It is a direct appreciation for the work their employees
do, the value placed upon it and the recognition of
the work conditions and stress levels. Sinead
also takes the opportunity to discuss with employers
the possible, small changes to the work environment
which can be made to enhance the environment in a
positive way, how workforce absenteeism can be improved
and how overall wellbeing of staff can be enhanced.
